ITINERARY

Day 1: Washington, D.C.
Hometown departure.  Tonight, enjoy an included welcome dinner. 

Day 2: Washington, D.C.
Get your day off to an unforgettable start at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center with a guided tour of this iconic building. Immerse yourself in the rich history of America's capital city on a captivating city tour, and soak in the breathtaking views of the White House, National Mall, and other iconic landmarks and museums. Take a poignant pause to pay homage at the World War II Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Plus, savor the convenience of having breakfast, lunch, and dinner included today.

Day 3: Arlington National Cemetery ­ Mount Vernon, Virginia
Visit Arlington National Cemetery, the largest cemetery in the United States. Then, continue on to Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. After a tour of the mansion, take some time to wander through the gardens and grounds before visiting the tomb of General Washington and his wife, Martha. This evening, you can enjoy some free time. Whether you choose to explore Old Town Alexandria or return to the city, you are sure to have a great time. Breakfast and lunch will be included today.

Day 4: ­ Washington, D.C.
Today, you have the freedom to immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of the Smithsonian Museums at your own pace. The museums are conveniently located within walking distance or a short metro ride from our hotel. You also have hop on/hop off bus tour tickets included, so you can explore the city at your leisure. Take in the sights and indulge in the local culinary scene. In the evening, enjoy an included farewell dinner followed by an illuminated twilight tour of the Jefferson, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Lincoln Memorials before returning to the hotel. Both breakfast and dinner are included today.

Day 5: Washington, D.C. ­ Tour Ends
Enjoy time at the Museum of the Bible this morning before your tour comes to a close in Washington, D.C. Today breakfast will be included.

The price includes hotel accommodation, sightseeing as outlined in itinerary, 11 meals, as well as gratuities for the drivers and guides. Airfare is not included, but we can help arrange it from any location in the U.S. Prices are subject to change until final payments have been made. A $500 per person deposit is due at the time of reservation, and this deposit is fully refundable until February 15, 2025. Deposits made on or after February 15, 2025, are non-refundable. Final payments are due by April 1. Insurance is optional and may be purchased at the time of deposit.

College of the Ozarks continues its groundbreaking CitizenTrip® Patriotic Education Program.  Beginning in 2019, the intense 2-day whirlwind experience allows our students to visit Washington, D.C. at no cost.  Senior students have the opportunity to take this capstone course to tour sights such as the U.S. Capitol, the National Mall, Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, the Museum of the Bible, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, and so much more.  All of this is made possible by people just like you.
